In one of my lectures yesterday I was told that there are more Neo-Nazis in Brisbane than we think. Actually, Russell Crowe made a movie about that too (Neo-Nazism in Australia). What I find interesting and kind of sad is that those who claim to be Neo-Nazis – and act out their violence on other ethnic groups – would never find any sort of rapport in Nazi Germany itself, for the simple fact that many Neo-Nazis today are of Anglo-Saxon origin, i.e. English, Americans, and Australians (modern Germans revile these sorts of people, and even those Neos within the former Nazi country are marginalized and undoubtedly a minority).
For the simple fact that these Australians most probably cannot speak German, they would have been shunned by a ‘true’ Nazi anyway.
The reality is that many have erroneously found the tenets of Nazism compatible with their own beliefs, yet disregard others that were exclusive to the idea of the Germanic peoples alone. That these so-called ’skinheads’ resort to tattooing their entire body with Runic and other occult symbols like the reverse swastika, or dress up in Nazi paraphernalia and express the country’s original ownership as belonging to whites, is in fact a mixed up agenda that brings into question the very nature of the lawlessness they are committing.
Why such a strong word as ‘lawlessness’? Well, these sort of racist followings are also very prominent in American prisons – amongst white men, no doubt. I would laugh (by that I mean genuinely find humourous) at Asian or African American men shouting ‘White power’. It’s very hard to prosecute these men who commit crimes in prison of all places, but in fact it’s quite hard to prosecute them, since they are already in prison! Criminals seem to be attracted to these violent hateful groups which live off the dark aura of destructive urges in lost and spiritually wayward men. How sad, though, that these criminals would be locked up in exactly the same way in Nazi Germany, where all Nazis, despite the incorrectness of their political beliefs, were still disciplined, law-abiding citizens.

Hi Ray,
well, that’s new to me, that Neo-nazi can also be found in good Australia, and it stroke my mind. I can’t believe it, in my mind, in a country like Ausrlalia neo-nazism is exceptionally dangerous because of the many ethnic groups. But in fact, it’s dangerous wherever it occurs. I agree with you that neo nazis are a minority, but I can tell you that in particular parts in Germany, where unemployment rates are high, neo-nazism is widely spread. It’s a topic, I find very interesting. Especially in the eatern part of Germany, you will find so called “skinheads” who claim “Germany for the Germans”. These are like the ones you desribed in your blogg.
On the other side you have some highly educated man, who are much more clever than those “prols”, who also believe in this “Germany for the Germans” policy. There’s also a neo-nazi party (NPD) and they were elected in the parliament of Saxonia, I’m not quite sure when this happened, I think it was in 2004. These people are much more dangerous, because they spread the idea of neo-nazism especially among the youths in a calm way. So they try to attract new members, thats higly dangerous.
I could tell so much more about this, but I guess it’s enough for today (I’m not sure if everything I wrote is correctly spelled and makes sense for a native speaker, but I hope most of it is comprehensive)
Hey buddy,
well, the most insidious of these people are those who influence higher levels of politics, business, and academia. The most ‘brutish’ are those wild-eyed thugs with no real regard for the safety of others. Either way, there is real danger inherent in both.
Your English hasn’t gone rusty, you’ve been doing well, old friend. :)
