I’m not a big fan of self-help. It’s a funny genre – people buy books by acclaimed authors, who in turn pretty much tell them what frame of mind they must exercise, what positive thinking they require, the steps they need to take in order to emerge a winner.
I think the best kind of self [...]

Well, that’s that. This month-long project is now over. I had a blast writing this novel, and by no means is updating the novel, or its characters, or a revisiting of the world I created impossible. By all means, I will participate in this again next year.
Now it’s time to move on to other vocations [...]

‘Absence of occupation is not rest; a mind quite vacant is a mind distressed.’
- William Cowper
‘Health exists for life, and life exists for the love of music and beautiful things.’

Now I can return to regularly not updating my blog.
In all seriousness, if anyone wants a copy of my novel, please PM me and I’ll send you the document.
I am considering putting it on a website too, leaving aside intellectual property issues, I still haven’t found a good enough website. If anyone has any tips, [...]

Either that, or if you’re bored and just want to see what kind of imagination stirs [...]

What is my calling, and what is it that makes my existence what it is? I would answer this by asserting, ‘I am a Mahayana Buddhist philosopher.’ But this sentence, like many other answers that we all attempt to give, contains more questions than answers. In the Western world there hasn’t been a better time to be an Asian man. I’d say it must have been pretty shitty to have lived during the era of relentless European colonization, but these days there is next to nothing restricting anyone making something out of their life. Not only that, but Asian men’s [...]
Thematic revamp of Buddha Warrior

In a few days time I will start a series of posts about specific philosophy topics. This is in the name of making up for relatively scant posting over the past few days thanks to the new house and novel writing. I will think of my own topics but I’d also like some suggestions. It’ll [...]
