I have received a couple of comments recently regarding the courageous holy work by Burma’s (Myanmar? Never heard of it) moral centre, the good monks who fear no illegitimate, tyrannical ruler. By my estimation, several monks should have been shot by now and at least three times as many imprisoned or being unjustly interrogated.
I don’t [...]

I support Burma’s brave monks.

Do not give in to the tyrants who trumpet themselves as strong leaders.
These evil men have smothered their conscience to attempt to silence something that cannot be silenced. What can the military possibly do to holy men? The sacred offices have existed since the time of our world-system’s Buddha. The junta has ruled for a [...]
16,000 hits special: I got attacked by a drunk, drugged hooligan!

And it wasn’t even 12:00am yet!
On my way back from the Embassy nightclub after meeting with some old friends from college, I wound up accosted by some lanky short dude, whose only ‘intimidating’ thing was his sheer aggression and lack of even the most basic body function (wandering eyes, lolling tongue, hunchbacked walk, it was [...]
Why Abraham Lincoln wore a beard
Posted in Fun or Humour on September 26, 2007 | 2 Comments »
Well, who knew a little girl could make such a direct impact on a great man. Although his response made no promises, within a full month he had grown a hardcore beard. I’m no great man, but I have found myself in similar instances where a small child (for some reason often a girl) has [...]
What kind of software do mangaka use?
Posted in Personal on September 24, 2007 | 3 Comments »
Not that I need it so soon, but I am curious as to how mangaka put their comics together beyond the sketching, drawing and inking. How do they type the font and speech bubbles, and how is the page layout configurated? Any ideas?
Homily of the Day

A priest offered a nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest, ashamed, removed his hand. But, changing gears, [...]
My new hobby

‘The person with an interesting life always has a range of interesting hobbies.’
- Raymond
Jokes aside, I sat down one night about one week ago and wrote up a list of hobbies that I had engaged in for more than 2 years or had consistently stayed with for one semester (dabbling in it for a month [...]
Overall impression of the Transformers movie toy line
Posted in Personal on September 14, 2007 | 3 Comments »
I have to say first of the cuff that the movie toy line is NOT as fun as previous ones. Maybe it’s the new designs of the Transformers as more alien and less humanoid that intimidated the designers and prompted them to stick with the bare minimums. I’m fine with this – I’ve always been [...]
Myth: the Ultimate Truth
Posted in Religion, Self-Improvement on September 11, 2007 | 1 Comment »
Myth is often used negatively, along with words like ’superstition’, ‘fairytale’, or ‘legend’. But I don’t use it like that. If it is superstition, I call it superstition. But myth implies a greater being as a narrative of meaning.
It seems these days that myth and truth can’t be in the same sentence, unless it’s ‘Myth [...]
The sexiest paper I have ever written.

I have recently completed a short tutorial paper on Foucault’s The History of Sexuality, regarding the techniques of discovering the truth of sex: ars erotica and scientia sexualis. If you’re interested in having a look, PM me and I’ll send it to you via attachment.
